White had a winning position, but Black (London) was winning on time.

London League division 1: Fixture fiasco and narrow defeat

An unfortunate mix up with fixture scheduling left Dulwich and Hackney with no boards, pieces, clocks, tables, chairs or space to play the match.
With great ingenuity on both sides, some borrowed sets and some draw negotiations the match somehow got played.
Alas, it ended in a narrow 7-5 defeat for Dulwich.

London League division 4: Haran's win gives Dulwich the lead over Cavendish

Dulwich have moved into a 3½-2½ lead over Cavendish after Martin Crichton resigned without resumption against
Haran Rasalingam. Allen Miller's win over Ron Harman was also notable.

London League division 4: Liam wins to clinch 4-4 draw

Dulwich clinched a 4-4 draw with Kings Head when Liam Child won his adjourned position against B Jackson,
graded 20 points higher than Liam. Well done Liam!

The first team made a fantastic start to the season defeating Richmond 9-3. Daniel Bayer (left) won in just 13 moves!

Jovanka Houska overcame a tough line-up of 17 players at Dulwich Chess Club, winning 13, drawing 2 and just 2 defeats.
Many thanks to Jovanka for this event which helped the team get into gear for the season ahead.
It also seems that the simul benefited Jovanka, who won her next simul 16-0!
